The History of Syn-core Directional

Syn-core Directional has been operating out of southern Alberta since 2002. Here is bit of timeline of the growth of our company:

Founded
Established in southern Alberta in October 2002 by Clint and Amber Capton
October 2002
October 2002
First crew
Started with 2 pit machines, an American 36" Auger machine, a UTI Directional Drill, a backhoe and 5 employees
October 2002
Vermeer Directional Drill in Mountaints
2005
Vermeer drill added to fleet
2005 purchased a 40x40 Vermeer Drill for oilfield work
2005
SynCore Hydrovac truck southern Alberta
2006
HydroTruck added
2006 purchased first hydrovac truck
2006
2009
Added another Vermeer
2009 purchased a 80x100 Vermeer Drill to complete a waterline project in the County of Newell
2009
Man working near horizontal augering equipment

Auger Machine added to the Fleet
2010 purchased A Barbco 60/48 Auger machine for the larger diameter Irrigation pipelines

Field Drainage trenches

Company Acquisition
Purchased Prairie Ditching Ltd and started plowing waterlines, utilities and installing field drainage systems

Second Shop
We purchased our second shop and land in Coalhurst, Alberta

Setting Up Field Drainage Systems Using Bron Equipment

Bron Plow
Purchased our first Bron 450 Plow for installing water lines

Biggest HDPE Project To Date
In 2013 we completed the Hamlet of Schuler Regional Water Supply contract: 25km of 4" HDPE installed!

Akkerman Boring Machine added to Fleet
Purchased Akkerman Guided Boring Machine to install large diameter steel pipe

Field Drainage Equipment

Another Bron added to the fleet
Purchased Bron 550 Drainage Plow

20km pipeline completed
Completed the New Dayton to Wrentham pipeline which consisted of 20km of 6" and 4" HDPE

We expanded our space in Coalhurst and acquired the land and building adjacent to our shop

Manyberries Project
Completed the Manyberries to Orion project which consisted of 15km 4" HDPE

New shop built
Built a new 7 bay shop on our property in Coalhurst

AirHammering Mincon Bit Syncore Directional

Air Hammer Project
Drilled through solid rock under 3 creeks and a river in the Beaver Mines area with our Mincon Air Hammer

Boring under OldMan River
Syn-core drilled three pipelines under the Oldman River consisting of 8" and 10" HDPE

Added Goliath Hammer to Fleet
Purchased 18" Goliath Hammer

Syn-core rammed 36" casing under Lee Creek in Cardston

Where we are at today...
We have available 3 tri-axle hydrovacs, 2 auger machines, 9 Directional Drills, a mud reclaimer, 18" air hammer, Mincon hammer, 3 Excavators, and 2 backhoes. We also have 18 employees, a full time mechanic, and welder on staff.
